It got erased when I upgraded to Sierra (regrettably). Tried to create a 'my.cfg' and 'my.ini' file with the following code to no avail: mysqld socket/var/mysql/mysql. I've located the socket file at /var/mysql/mysql.sock - like mentioned in the above linked post. I was able to install MySQL on OS X Mountain Lion back in 2013 with no problem. Seems like MySQL and PHP doesn't communicate well on the MacOS X 10.4.2 browser from default settings. I have the following installed: On-Premises data gateway MySQL Connector NET MySQL Server 8.0 MySQL Workbench 8.0 And then I get the problem. In Power Apps, I select Connections and then searsch for MySQL and select it. I searched for "MySQL" in spotlight search and found 'MySQL Preferences Pane' and clicked on 'Start MySQL Server' button but the status still shows "The MySQL Server Instance is stopped" ('stopped in red font). I'm going to connect my MySQL server to Microsoft Power Apps. Click the downloaded dmg file to open the MySql server installer package.
